Community & Charity News

Each year we devote a large chunk of our time to supporting the local community and donating to charities, both locally and across the UK.

Changing Lives

Changing Lives has been helping people facing some of the most challenging circumstances for 50 years. They began as a small charity in the North East called Tyneside Cyrenians, later The Cyrenians, helping people who were experiencing homelessness through hostels and day centres. They now operate nationally, helping thousands of people each year to change their lives for the better.

The Couple That Bakes donation to Changing Lives!

In 2020, The Couple That Bakes donated £100 to Changing Lives which was used to purchase essentials such as deodorants, body wash, soap, shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath and personal care gift sets.

A massive thank you to Courtney Lauder who arranged the collection of all items and transferred them to Changing Lives on our behalf. A community superstar!

North East Ambulance Service

Throughout the pandemic, and beyond, our NHS worked tirelessly to care for people and provide the best support. We admire and respect the long hours and hard work which our local North East Ambulance Service provide, they are incredible!

We receive thousands of messages each year asking for donations, raffle prizes and contributions to lots of extremely deserving charities and causes. As much as we would love to help every single cause unfortunately this is simply not possible, and we do have to limit how many donations we make a year.

All requests will be reviewed and the successful applications will receive a reply. We aim to reply within one week but this may take longer during busy periods.
